Putting Alumni Data to Work: From Engagement Signals to Business Impact
Alumni programs already generate real connection: events, mentoring, referrals, rehires. The harder question is what happens to the data those interactions create. This panel explores how teams turn engagement signals into warm introductions, business development, and hiring pipelines, and why clean data matters most at the moment someone acts on it.

Rachel Haaland Watson, Senior Director of Marketing & Client Intelligence at Akin Gump
Rachel is Senior Director of Marketing & Client Intelligence at Akin, where she leads work across three connected areas: digital marketing, client intelligence, and revenue technology. Her focus is on bringing these disciplines together to help the firm better understand its clients, deliver more relevant marketing, and give Partners and business development teams stronger insight into client interests and opportunities.
Her experience spans Big Law, B2B services, e-commerce, and SaaS, with a particular focus on intent and behavioral data.

At Akin, she helps shape digital marketing strategy, client and market intelligence, and the firm’s revenue technology ecosystem, connecting data from digital engagement, relationships, client activity, market developments, and firm experience.
Rachel’s work also focuses on how AI can transform marketing and client intelligence by connecting previously fragmented data and surfacing relevant insights faster. She develops the data structures, intelligence frameworks, and use cases that enable AI to identify meaningful patterns across client behavior, intent, relationships, market developments, and firm experience—and translate them into more informed marketing and growth decisions.
